STEAM & Dream expands STEM access for youth in grades 2–12 across Chicago and beyond through hands-on learning, culturally affirming experiences, and near-peer mentorship that turns curiosity into possibility.
What We Do
STEAM & Dream brings STEM to life through five dynamic tracks—Healthcare to the Future, Tech to the Future, Engineering to the Future, Planetary Guardians, and The Future Equation (Math)—where students explore healthcare pathways and the human body, robotics, coding, cybersecurity, environmental science, engineering design, math exploration, and community-centered problem solving.
What makes our work especially transformative is our near-peer mentorship model, in which trained, passionate college STEM majors—from universities across Chicago and beyond—lead our programs as relatable role models and future engineers, nurses, physicians, technologists, scientists, and educators.
They don’t simply teach; they inspire, connect, and expand students’ belief in who they can become, while guest speakers from STEM industries introduce students to real-world futures.

Since launching in 2024, STEAM & Dream has grown rapidly, serving over 1,000 youth and partnered with 20+ schools and organizations across Chicago and beyond, reflecting both the need and the power of our model.
